| Goodbye Retsu Unohana, hello Yachiru Unohana!!! |
After two weeks, Bleach 523 is finally here and I have to say I've never been more scared reading a chapter of Bleach in my life. As Ichigo and Renji start their battle against Ouetsu's Asauchi, Captain Unohana and Kenpachi begin their fight to the death. Before I go more into that I'll tell you that the Asauchi are basically like the beginning form of all Zanpakuto. They are in essence a blank piece of paper that the shinigami will draw on or basically mold the soul of their own Zanpakuto. Now then let's get into whats important and that is the battle between Unohana and Kenpachi which has brought out Unohana's demonic side or maybe just her true nature. Yachiru Unohana is by far the most frightening person I've seen throughout this series and by the looks of it, her and Kenpchi have a violent and bloody history together. For all these years, we finally get to see what she has been hiding with that long braid of hers and it's a scar she's gotten from Kenpchi a long time ago and the scar he has over his left eye was given to him by Unohana. Unohana apparently has extensive knowledge of swordsmanship and has killed countless people originally labeling her as nothing more then a criminal before being recruited by Captain Commander Yamamoto. I'm guessing at some point during her days as a bloodthirsty murderer, she came across Kenpachi and this is when she obtained her scar and also gave Kenpachi his scar. The two of them are now in a fight to the death and I'm honestly not sure who might win this battle but I'm hoping neither of them actually dies. We finally get to see Unohana's true nature and if she ends up dying, that will be the biggest FUCK YOU!!! Tite Kubo has ever given to Bleach fans. Most people including myself aren't really big fans of flashbacks but I'm actually hoping to see one this time just to get a glimpse of what Captain Unohana was like before joining Soul Society. Things are getting pretty damn crazy and I'm loving every bit of it.

Awesome blog keep it up buddy!
ReplyDeleteWell, If Unohana dies is ok, but, I think if Zaraki ends up dying is worse for Bleach fans, you know, Zaraki has more followers than Unohana...
ReplyDeletethats because no has seen Unohana's true nature
ReplyDeleteFirst: Sorry for my bad englidh :D
ReplyDeleteI think Unohana will just show Kenpachi how terrible he is in Swordmanship and will scared him a bit. Now when Kenpachi understand how thinks work, than she will give him the real fight "The Art Of Killing".Sorry for my bad englidh :D
Unohana has been the most underestimated character a lot just hate her because she doesnt battle because of her status as the 4 th Captain. This is perhaps he best character arc/character secret theyve had in the series and Ive had a feeling Unohana is really strong and had to hide that for a reason. Plus her dmeanor changed that look is even creepier and explains why most are scared of her and comply to whatever she says. Im hoping the thought that one of them will die is just a plot to keep us invested in the story and neither actually dies .... I have a feeling Kenpachi will understand he is weaker right now and Unohana may help him achieve Shikai (perhaps similar to Yuruichi AND Kuiske helping Ichigo) by him finally learning the name of his zanpakto.. Its still a mystery perhaps Unohana also didnt know the name of her zanpakto until some point after her and Kenpachi battled... Kenpachi has admiration for Unohana but also resentment... since they both have scars from that battled that never healed I am unsure if it were a draw or what but Im sure that will be enlightened more in future volumes. I have a feeling Unohana's bankai may also be revealed soon and it may just be a dangerous bankai (everyones bankai to date has been pretty sick for their own part).
ReplyDeletePlease, ignore my ignorance but why are they fighting to death?
ReplyDeleteThere are two reasons for this, one is that they have a long history in which they both want to settle and two, Unohana has been put in charge of teaching Kenpachi the "Art of Killing"
DeleteUnohana has to be at least twice as old as Zaraki and she has Bankai. Zaraki according to the normal rules shouldn't stand a chance. However, when it comes to potential, Zaraki is possibly the scariest shinigami born in a thousand years. He has no specialized attacks, or communion with his zanpaktou and he doesn't care for swordsmanship, yet he defeated the fifth espada rather easily (once he used two hands). Tite Kubo, unless he becomes neglectful, has a lot of development left to do.
